Fran Beckett OBE

Fran Beckett talks at the Movement Day UK 2017 conference in Methodist Central Hall Westminster about the importance of unity. She uses the bible passage of 1 Corinthians 12 to explain that unity is more than just doing things together, it's expressing the body of Christ for the sake of his kingdom.

Formerly CEO of the national charity the Shaftesbury Society (now Livability) and the Church Urban Fund Fran has chaired and served on several national voluntary sector Boards, as well as chaired a Government Advisory Group on the voluntary & community sector for four years.

Now pursuing a ‘portfolio’ work life she is a non-Exec Director on the Group Board of one of the top 10 national Housing Associations, chairs their main subsidiary Board; and chairs Prison Fellowship Board. Formerly Evangelical Alliance Vice-Chair and a frequent Spring Harvest speaker she was also on the London Development Agency Board, appointed by the London Mayor, with pan-London responsibilities for the city’s economic and social regeneration.

Having recently moved from inner-city Peckham to Brighton she gave up a Borough –wide role encouraging churches in their community action but continues consultancy activities including mentoring CEO’s, and governance & strategy development work with organisations and churches.
